Organized by the City of El Paso, WinterFest is one of the most beloved signature events that takes place in downtown. The seasonal festival starts the weekend before Thanksgiving, November 23, through January 5, 2025.
Started in 2015, the Coolest Fest in the Southwest welcomes the holiday season with a holiday tree lighting ceremony in San Jacinto Plaza, as well as the Scherr Legate WinterFest Lights Parade, followed by a festive concert. WinterFest has become a tradition in our community, and the City of El Paso along with various partners strive to make the season bigger and better for El Pasoans and visitors to enjoy.
Throughout the season, San Jacinto Plaza and the surrounding downtown area is covered with more than 1 MILLION lights, oversized decorations, and a 55-ft holiday tree. The season includes an outdoor ice-skating rink, winter-themed attractions and family-friendly programs.
